He's gonna be up for board fortunes. 'Striker', the Chandan Arora helmed flick starring Siddharth, will showcase his potential as an actor and the South star is rather sanguine about it's outcome.

"Don't just expect a good film, expect a brilliant one," he avers in a newspaper chat. "I've put a lot into 'Striker'. It's an author backed role and it spans 20 years in a man's life. I've even produced and sung two songs. And I've given four years of my life to it."

In the interim, the actor turned down 'Delhi 6', 'Rock On!!' and 'Hook Ya Crook'. Declares Siddharth, "Even if I could turn the clock back, I'd still opt for 'Striker'."

Confidence, anyone?

Riteish Deshmukh continues to be in news. Just three months back it was all about ALADIN and today with RANN round the corner, he stays on in limelight. Meanwhile, his personal life has been spoken about at length as well with his 'good friendship' with Genelia D'Souza continuing to be a topic of attention. One wonders whether repeated questions about this topic in particular irk him to any extent?

"I am used to all of this now and moreover also conditioned to what people will ask", Riteish gives out that gentle smile here, "I am very approachable and as a journalist, you are free to ask me any question. After that it depends upon how I want to answer you. It's entirely my prerogative but in principal I don't mind being asked about my personal life."

Since certain tabloids and journalists already seem to have made up their minds in advance about what to write and print, doesn't it become irritating after a while?

"It depends a lot upon what kind of persona you are carrying and depending upon that I choose to interact with a journo", says Riteish, "If you are smart and ask me intelligent questions, I will have good respect for you and would be very honest in my replies. However, if you are trying to ask me the same question in every conversation and I gain a hint that ultimately you are looking at making me answer in a direction that you want, I will loose respect for you. Not that it would matter to any of us eventually, but as an individual this is the kind of view that I carry while being interviewed."

Salman Khan continues to be one of the most eligible bachelors of Bollywood, even as he celebrated his 43rd birthday yesterday. The actor who has had quite a tumultuous love life, has never managed to quite find the woman of his dreams. But even though his love life isn't rocking, his professional life certainly is. After a series of duds at the box office, the actor had a big hit in 'Wanted', after a very long time.

'Wanted' has certainly given Salman a lot to celebrate about. There is no doubt that the joy of celebrating his birthday would have been doubled by the fact that he has a hit under his belt. 'Wanted', which was directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Boney Kapoor was definitely one of the highpoints of this year. And now Salman has his sights set on 'Veer', directed by Anil Sharma, which is also based on a story written by the actor himself. With this hit, he has underlined his position as being among the three powerful Khans in Bollywood along with good friend Aamir Khan and bĂȘte noire Shah Rukh Khan. Not that his popularity ratings have ever been affected by his series of flops. According to information, the actor left for his Panvel farmhouse to celebrate his birthday along with his family and close friends. It seems that he rung in his birthday with his family on Saturday and partied on Sunday with his male friends. Yes, it was an all male party that saw just a select few of Sallu's close friends being invited. Unlike previous years, there was no Katrina Kaif around. As for their now on now off relationship, currently, it seems to be off. There were rumours of Katrina and Ranbir Kapoor seeing each other, but they were countered soon enough by reports that Ranbir was wooing Deepika Padukone back into his life. Wonder where that leaves Katrina, or actually, where does that leave Salman? But as for now, Sallu bhai will be having his eyes set only on the New Year and the release of 'Veer'.

Madhuri Dixit is in Denver an all is well with her, but she is still in demand and regularly getting offers for films, but she in no mood to sign on the dotted line. A fortnight back, Krishna Shah announced his decision to make a film based on the life and times of the late Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Now, Saroj Khan, her favourite choreographer when she was active in Hindi films decided to direct Madhuri in a ballet on the life of Amrapali. She had several discussions with Javed Akhtar who she said would write the script for the ballet to be directed by Feroz Ahmad Abbas who had directed well known plays like 'Tumhari Amrita', 'Salgirah' and 'Aisa Bhi Hota Hai'. He had also directed a feature film 'Gandhi My Father' produced by Anil Kapoor. Madhuri has still not heard about the project. Director Feroz Abbas said he had a talk with Saroj Khan and knows nothing about what happened later. Madhuri's manager in Mumbai, Rakesh (Rikku) Nag says Madhuri has been receiving several offer but she will take the right decisions at the right time.' He went on to say that he receives at least two major offers for Madhuri every month but has to turn them down till Madhuri gives him a go ahead.
