Today is the birthday of Salman Khan's father, Salim Khan, part of the famous Salim Javed duo of scriptwriters. He, along with Javed Akhtar, took script writing to another level and compelled producers and directors to give them their duo. 'Seeta Aur Geeta', 'Zanjeer', 'Deewar', 'Sholay', 'Trishul' are just some of their many collaborations which were very successful. Salman gave his father a rare gift on his birthday today.
The actor gifted his father a blog. The actor launched the blog of his film 'Veer', the story of which he is believed to have written and has dedicated it to his father. The film is being directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Vijay Galani. It is believed that the story of 'Veer' too has a very strong father son angle and therefore it seemed appropriate that Salman launched the blog on his father's birthday and dedicate it to him. The actor will write about his experiences during the shooting of 'Veer', which has incidentally, been quite eventful. The actor will try to blog at least twice a week It seems that Salim has seen the rushes of the movie and is quite impressed with it. In fact, the father is very impressed by his son's representation of the father son relationship in the movie. Unlike Javed Akhtar who keeps himself busy writing scripts and lyrics these days, Salim has more or less retired these days, though there has been talks of Salim playing a more dominant role in Sohail Khan Productions at Salman's behest.
