Akbar Khan, the younger brother of Feroz Khan and Sanjay Khan last released his most ambitious film, 'Taj Mahal A Monument of Love' in 2005 staring Zulfi Sayed, Manisha Koirala and Pooja Batra, directed by Akbar Khan himself. He was not happy with the way his film was released, distributed and promoted which he believes is the reason for the film to get a luke warm response at the box office. He is now giving the film a new look and will re release the film all over the world in the coming few months. There has been news of Sir Ben Kingsley also planning to make a film on Taj Mahal and is believed to have approached none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Mumtaz Mahal. Ben will play the role of emperor Shah Jahan while his wife Daniela will play the role of Kandhari Begum. Akbar Khan is not worried about Sir Ben Kingsley making a film on Taj Mahal. He says, 'I don't think of competition when I make a film and I can certainly say that I have made a better film about the Taj than any one has or can .'
Akbar Khan has a unique idea of re releasing his film in a theatre near the Taj Mahal for tourists to have a look at the reality behind the Taj. The theater will run shows of the film all through the day.
